A 120 Volt electrical shock is more dangerous than a 230 or 400 Volt shock. With a 120 volt shock, the initial shock isn't as extreme which doesn't provide the instant "release" from the charge. This is dangerous b/c it increases the chances of a person being held to the 120 volt charge. With a higher volt shock, the initial volt is so extreme that it actually throws a person away from the electric charge which disconnects one from the current.

Shizzle!
